In order to qualify for the program, the founder/proposed employee must fall into either of the following 2 categories:

1. They must be offered a job with a salary over €32,000 and the job must be listed on the Occupations List (HSOL). For example, Draughts persons and Related Architectural Technicians, Pharmaceutical technicians, Fitness instructors, Credit controllers, Legal associate professionals, Conference and exhibition managers and organizers, Gardeners and landscape gardeners etc. They must also hold a relevant degree or higher;

2. They must be offered a job with a salary over €64,000 and the job can be any job (unless listed on the Ineligible List of Occupations for Employment Permits). They must either hold a relevant degree or higher or have the necessary level of experience.

In order to secure an employment permit, the job offer made to the proposed employee must be for a period of at least 2 years. After 2 years employment permit may be renewed.

Cost of Irish Critical Skills Employer Permit

The minimum costs associated with starting a company in Ireland, hiring staff for two years (including Irish director, Irish employee, Accountancy, Corporate assist services), paying fees and issuing a visa will be at least 140,000 euros.

Citizenship of Ireland

In order to apply for Irish citizenship, an applicant must have at least 5 years (or 60 months) reckonable residence in Ireland comprised as follows: one year’s continuous residency in Ireland immediately prior to the date of application and, during the eight years before that, a total residence period of four years.
